Dhaulagiri Trek Itinerary

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, you will be welcomed by our representative. He/she will assist you to your respective hotel. At the hotel, he/she will help you to check-in and make a pre-meeting for your trek. Take some time to rest and acclimatize to the altitude.

After breakfast at your hotel, meet with your trekking guide for a detailed briefing about the trek itinerary, necessary equipment, and safety precautions. If needed, you can use this day to purchase or rent any trekking gear or supplies in Kathmandu. In the afternoon, transfer to Kathmandu's domestic airport for your flight to Pokhara. The flight takes approximately 25 minutes. Upon arrival in Pokhara, check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing or exploring the lakeside city. Overnight at hotel

Early in the morning, transfer to Pokhara's domestic airport for your flight to Jomsom. The flight offers spectacular views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Upon arrival in Jomsom, meet your trekking crew and begin trekking towards Lubra. The trek to Lubra takes approximately 5-6 hours and follows the Kali Gandaki River, offering views of rugged landscapes and traditional villages. Arrive in Lubra, a small Tibetan village, and settle into your accommodation for the night.

After breakfast, resume your trek towards Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. The trail ascends gradually, passing through picturesque landscapes and traditional villages. Upon reaching Muktinath, visit the Muktinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, and the nearby Buddhist monasteries. Take in the spiritual ambiance and stunning mountain views surrounding the temple complex. Overnight stay in Muktinath.

Today's trek takes you from Muktinath to Jhong and then to Kagbeni. Enjoy the scenic trail with views of the Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri mountains. Explore the ancient village of Jhong with its traditional architecture and cultural heritage. Continue trekking to Kagbeni, a medieval village situated at the entrance of the Upper Mustang region. Depart from Kagbeni and trek to Marpha, known for its apple orchards and traditional whitewashed houses. The trail offers panoramic views of the Himalayas as you descend into the Kali Gandaki Valley. Today's trek takes you from Marpha to Aalubari. Enjoy the scenic trail through rhododendron forests and picturesque valleys. Pass through traditional villages and interact with the friendly locals. Today is a rest day in Yak Kharka, allowing you to acclimatize to the altitude and rejuvenate for the challenging days ahead. Take short walks around the village or simply relax and enjoy the serene mountain atmosphere. Optionally, you can explore nearby viewpoints for panoramic mountain views or engage in light exercises to stay active. Overnight stay in Yak Kharka.

Resume your trek from Yak Kharka towards Kalopani or Dhampus Base Camp. The trail offers breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges as you ascend to higher altitudes. Depending on the pace of the trek and weather conditions, you will either reach Kalopani or Dhampus Base Camp by the end of the day. Overnight stay in Kalopani or Dhampus Base Camp.

Begin your trek towards the Hidden Valley, a secluded basin surrounded by towering cliffs and glaciers. Arrive at Italian Camp, a temporary campsite used by trekkers and mountaineers as a base for expeditions to Dhaulagiri and other peaks in the region. Resume your trek from Italian Camp towards Dovan. The trail descends through rocky terrain and lush forests, offering occasional glimpses of the surrounding peaks. Arrive in Dovan, a small settlement nestled in the heart of the Himalayas. Set up camp and relax for the night, enjoying the tranquility of the mountain surroundings. Overnight camping in Dovan.

Trek from Dovan to Muri, a journey that takes you through pristine forests and picturesque valleys. Enjoy the scenic trail with views of waterfalls, streams, and wildlife. Arrive in Muri, a charming village situated at the confluence of the Myagdi and Kali Gandaki rivers. Set up camp and rest for the night, rejuvenating for the final leg of your trek. Overnight camping in Muri.

Today's trek takes you from Muri back to Beni, where you began your journey. Descend through lush forests and terraced fields, passing through traditional villages along the way. Arrive in Beni, a bustling town located at the confluence of the Kali Gandaki and Myagdi rivers. Celebrate the completion of your trek with your trekking crew and enjoy a well-deserved rest. Overnight stay in Beni.

After breakfast, depart from Beni and drive back to Kathmandu. The journey takes approximately 6-7 hours, offering scenic views of the countryside and terraced fields. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. You may choose to explore the vibrant streets of Thamel or relax at your hotel. Today is a rest day in Kathmandu, allowing you to unwind and reflect on your trekking adventure. Explore the cultural and historical landmarks of Kathmandu at your own pace. Visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, or Pashupatinath Temple. Alternatively, you can indulge in some souvenir shopping or enjoy a leisurely meal at one of Kathmandu's many restaurants. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time for last-minute shopping or additional sightseeing in Kathmandu. Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey, bidding farewell to the majestic Himalayas and the warm hospitality of Nepal. End of the trekking adventure.
